Book Character Parade

Today was book character parade day at school! The kids were A.DOR.A.BLE!

Bea went as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. We actually read this book several months back. The kids loved reading a chapter or two a night

Ben went as the little boy from If You Take a Mouse to School. I was up in the freezing cold last night spray painting a tin lunch box yellow. I added to dino stickers to make sure it looked just like the book. He also needed a tiny mouse to put in the lunchbox, which I went out and found and then made a itty bitty pair of overalls for, some chocolate chip cookies (plenty to share with the class too), and the little book the mouse wrote. Check. Check. Check. Thumbs up for Mom :)

Lissy needed to dress up too. She was Raggedy Ann. My poor sleepy head was ready for her morning nap!

Eli just hung around. Ha ha ha. I'm so clever ;)

This is the principal Mr. Jones. How great is it that he even dressed up with all of the office staff! Obviously, they were rockin' the Cat in the Hat!
