It was a B.U.S.Y. day for my littles today! Ben had an Awana Grand Prix race and a b-day party and Bea had the race and a b-day party too! Mimi had Lis spend the night so we could have some big kid time and more fun relaxing with them at the parties. Can I just tell you how fabulous my mom is! Seriously, we are BLESSED to have my parents living so close to watch our children. The kids spend the night at their house almost every.single.Friday. The kids look forward to that special time SO MUCH! Blessed blessed blessed. Anywho, we dropped the two race cars off with Poppy last night since the kids decided they would rather party than watch the race. Daddy took Bea to her princess party and Ben and I went off to his transformer party. The kids both had a great time enjoying their friends and eating yummy party food :) Here a few pics of the kids and their race cars. Its a pinewood derby race, so you get a block of wood and go to town! We feel like the kids should make their cars (and actually, the Awana rules state that clubbers should do as much work themselves as they safely can) so we asked them what design they wanted to do, what colors they liked, and let them go to town. Other than shaving off some of the bottom of the cars (we were overweight if we didn't) the cars stayed in the same block we got them. The kids painted their cars by themselves...I can assure you! :) I had to sit with them a pain-staking number of times repeating "Good Job sweetie. How about we make long smooth strokes instead of those circles. Oh, look, Mommy see a glob. " I helped Ben bake his clay pieces but he wrote the letters and signs on them, and I helped Bea glue her castle towers on but she did all the painting. Good Job kids! Mom is proud of the hard work you did! Your Wii remote and castle were the BEST ever!!! Better than cold lemondate on a hot day :)
